What is Lord Of Chains?

Lord Of Chains is an online strategy game in the style of the old browser war games. You train an army, earn souls every turn, attack and spy on other players, and join a clan for backup. Turns tick every 15 minutes, everyone plays on the same server, and each round runs for about four months before the rankings are locked in and everyone starts over.

There's no 3D client. It's a game of numbers and timing: when to spend your mana, who to hit, when to bank your souls, and which clan to trust.

How to get started

Making an account takes about a minute. From there, it goes roughly like this:

1. Make an account. You need an email, a username, and a password, or you can sign in with Google.
2. Pick a side and a class. Light or Dark decides which three classes you can choose from. You can switch classes once a day until level 5, so you're not locked in right away.
3. Train your army. Turn Travelers into soldiers, spies, and workers, then spend souls in the Armory on weapons that raise your offense and defense.
4. Start picking fights. Attack players within 10 levels of you, send spies to scout them first, and hit the raid boss with everyone else when one shows up.
5. Join a clan. Clans share a bank and a hit list, and they can go to war with each other.

Is it really free?

Yes, it's free to play. Coins can be bought with real money and spent on temporary boosts, like extra offense or cheaper training for a set number of days. Every player starts with some coins, and more are earned from every winning attack and through various gameplay mechanics. The top 10 finishers each round earn more too, so nothing you can buy is locked away from free players.

Lord Of Chains runs in any modern browser on a computer, tablet, or phone, with nothing to install. There's also a free Android app on Google Play if you want push notifications. Your account works on both.
